〔Participation in the Challenge 25 Campaign〕
The Meisei group participates in the Challenge 25% Campaign, which is promoted by Japanese government to curb global warming. We are actively involved in this activity both as an individual and as a firm. Our group will continue to work on following seven challenges which are recommended by the campaign.
1. To encourages employees’ environmental awareness.
2. To try to put the light off frequently, and to reduce the lighting.
3. To start the switch off campaign for electronics including the PC, TV, copy machine etc.
4. To implement the “cool biz (open collar, no jackets for )” style for summer, and the “warm biz ” style for winter.
5. To try to save water.
6. To try to save resources by promoting paperless etc.
7. To participate in global warming prevention activities which are conducted at the regional level.
〔To recycle old documents, and to use recycled-paper〕
In order to contribute to the global-scale environmental issues and local waste problems, we are promoting paper recycling. We separate the discarded paper in the office and commission its recycling to confidential document disposer.
By promoting the 3R measures for paper, we will continue to recycle used paper and reduce the waste in order to achieve a sustainable society.
The 3 R’s for paper
Reduce – Let’s reduce waste. When you need to copy or print out something make sure that you print only as needed.
Reuse – Always use both sides of a piece of paper before you recycle it.
Recycle - Let’s make recyclable material to be used again as resource. (When you dispose waste, make sure that you properly separate it.)
〔Registration for Chuo-ku Social welfare council〕
Considering the promotion of local welfare and volunteer activities, the Meisei group became a member of Chuo-ku Social welfare council. We intend to participate in various volunteer activities both as voluntary members and as a group.
〔Purchasing products from the social welfare institution〕
||We are purchasing our office envelope from the social welfare institution.
〔Recycling of used stamp〕
We collect and send used stamps to JOCS (Japan Overseas Christian Medical Cooperative Service). JOCS is an incorporated association which aims to improve global healthcare through the activities such as healthcare workers dispatching to overseas. In our office, we place collection boxes on each floor so that everyone can easily participate in this campaign.
〔Participation in the eco cap campaign〕
|| We are involved in the eco cap campaign which is hosted by the NPO Ecocap Movement. Taking off the cap encourages the recycling of plastic bottles, and therefore reduces carbon dioxide emissions. Used plastic bottle caps that we collected are sold to the recyclers as high quality material, and the sales profits are donated to fund in order to buy polio vaccine procurement for children in developing countries.
〔Adoption of sustainable coffee〕
In our office, the sustainable coffees such as the fair trade coffee and the rainforest alliance certified coffee are served to employees. Those coffees are produced and distributed for the purpose of the protection of natural environment and promotion of healthier working conditions for growers.
〔Cleanup activity of the surrounding area of our office〕
With the aim of creating a clean and beautiful town that people want to “live, work and visit”, we intend to participate in the cleanup activity of the local community around our office.
